“HEY DSRs, ANSWER YOUR PHONE IF A DRIVER CALLS, NO MATTER WHAT TIME IT IS!!!“
C.A. Curtze’s driver, Michael Light, says that some DSRs do answer their phones early in the morning because they understand their deliveries are being made and “stuff happens” that a DSR could help with in real time.
Rich Ahrens, a driver for Shamrock Foods, explains how taking two cases of whipped cream back across town because he missed it when delivering can make or break a DSR in an account. DSR Dave suggests that if you’re communicating with Drivers as the day is going on, in a case like this, the DSR could have picked up the two cases from the driver and taken them to the customer that day, and the DSR will have a much better chance of getting that Route and Stop they need next week.
Every distributor is only as good as their LAST DELIVERY. Most customers don’t remember the hundreds of times a distributor delivered the order right, but they remember those few that were wrong,” explains John Buchy, AFDR Board Member.
