Chris Moore, an 8-year veteran with Merchants Foodservice, has been inducted into AFDR’s DSR Hall of Fame for July 2010.
And on March 16, 2011, Chris was named the 2010 DSR of the Year selected from among seven Hall of Fame inductees during 2010.
“Chris is a living example of how teamwork is the key to any salesperson’s success,” said AFDR President Todd Hauser. “His ability to build teams among co-workers and customers has helped him quickly build a phenomenal business.”
Moore covers Montgomery, Troy, Selma, Highland Home, Luverne, Camden, and Prattville in Alabama.
Moore graduated with a psychology degree before getting into sales, an education that has served him well when dealing with different customers. “I think that one of the biggest secrets of this industry is the importance of understanding people, Moore said. “You have your type-A personalities that need a pat on the back. You have others that want to joke around with you all the time. I know it’s really helped me as a sales rep.”
He also reveals how he turns the occasional delivery mishap into his advantage by working closely with his drivers, what he’s learned about collecting A/R, and why it’s important to interview customers as closely as they interview sales reps.
